Recently, trainees participating in the “Belt and Road” International Mine Rescue Training Program conducted on-site observation and practical drills at Shendong Coal Group of CHN Energy.

The trainees observed high-temperature smoke environment adaptation training, 3D simulation rescue exercises, psychological counseling interventions, and military-style movement formation from the National Mine Emergency Rescue Team of CHN Energy Shendong Coal. They also had in-depth exchanges on advanced mine rescue equipment and technology, gaining detailed understanding of equipment performance, operation skills, tactical applications, and successful rescue cases. Afterwards, participants visited the Shendong dispatching and command center to experience the operation model of the intelligent dispatching system and explored underground operations at Shangwan Coal Mine, observed complete extraction processes of the fully-mechanized working face, and learned China’s advanced coal mining techniques.

Following the observation, the trainees and the National Mine Emergency Rescue Shendong team members jointly organized a team to carry out a two-day intensive training on emergency response for mine accidents, confined space rescue, water rescue, and rescue of building fires. Upon completion, they will jointly perform safety and emergency rescue drills with Chinese rescue team members, demonstrating practical training outcomes.

Ahmad Al Salih from Afghanistan expressed great honor in this participation, valued the enriching learning experience as it broadened his professional perspective, and deepened his appreciation of the profound friendship between the two countries through exchanges and interactions. He vowed to apply the knowledge gained to his emergency response work upon returning to his motherland, giving full play to this training.

The “Belt and Road” International Mine Rescue Training Program is hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and organized by the International Exchange and Cooperation Center, Ministry of Emergency Management (IECC). The National Center for Emergency Rescue in Workplace Safety organized and guided the technical exchanges of mine rescue equipment and joint exercises of emergency rescue in workplace safety. In addition, 24 trainees from five countries, including Liberia, Myanmar, Serbia, Uzbekistan, and Afghanistan, participated in observation, training, and drills.
