On July 29, China’s first domestically developed demonstration project of the pure electric bucket wheel system for continuous coal mining completed integrated commissioning and test at Yanbao Energy. Currently, the bucket wheel excavator, transfer machine, receiving car, and working-face belt conveyor have all been installed and debugged, with the entire system prepared for industrial trial operation.

Since work resumption on May 7, the Project has been steadily progressing, completing upgrades to the bucket wheel cabin, extending the working-face conveyor by 170 meters, and conducting deviation adjustments, as well as the integrated assembly of the bucket wheel excavator, transfer machine, and receiving car. In terms of safety management, the Company regularly conducts hazard inspections and fire prevention patrols, rectifying a total of 20 hazards. To address waterlogging during the flood season, measures including drainage ditch excavation and drainage pipe installation have been implemented. In addition, the Company organized specialized risk assessments, formulated evaluation reports, and held two training sessions led by experts to establish a documentation management system for each phase. The Company enhanced the information input of the intelligent safety control platform, revised workplace safety and environmental accountability systems and lists, with 36 external contractors completing training and establishing individual files, further strengthening the foundations of workplace safety.

Notably, the project achieved a major technological breakthrough by overcoming severe cold environment challenges. Combined “electric shovel + bucket wheel” with “mining truck + belt conveyor”, the Project innovatively adopted a “dual-wheel drive” mining operation mode to realize continuous low-carbon, low-manpower operation in extremely cold mining areas, significantly improving production efficiency and providing strong support for China’s green transition of the coal industry, as well as showcasing China’s independent innovation capabilities and outstanding strength in the field of smart mining equipment.
