Recently, Zhunneng Group officially launched the Phase I Construction Project of the Yellow River Ecological Corridor.

With a total investment of RMB 1.144 billion, the project is planned to be implemented in phases from 2025 to 2028. Phase I involves an investment of RMB 300 million, covering a total area of 988 hectares. Aligned with the strategy of ecological protection and high-quality development along the Yellow River basin, the project will incorporate ecological and environmental features within the ecological corridor within a 10-kilometer radius of Heidaigou Open-pit Coal Mine and Ha’erwusu Open-pit Coal Mine. Guided by the core principles of “prioritizing ecological protection and green development”, the project will adopt local condition adaptation, holistic planning approaches, implementing necessary engineering and biological measures to restore fragmented landscapes by planting forests, cultivating farmland, and wetlands, maintaining deserts and grasslands where suitable and appropriate, and restoring land use functions. Through systematic restoration and comprehensive governance of key areas along the Yellow River, the project aims to effectively enhance regional ecological functions, improve living environments, advance ecological protection along the Yellow River basin, and build an important ecological security barrier for northern China.

The Phase I Construction Project of Yellow River Ecological Corridor (Chengpo section) covers a design and construction area of 37.78 hectares, including earthwork land consolidation, sand and gravel road paving, landscape planting, and irrigation system installation. About 45,700 suitable trees including Chinese wild peach, Siberian apricot, Chinese pine, Chinese spruce, Mongolian pine, will be planted. Currently, construction work in the Chengpo section is in progress, including site enclosure wall, site clearing and leveling, and temporary facility setup, with construction machinery being mobilized, inspected, and tested. The project is scheduled for full completion by the end of September.
